Continuing with the #BlackHistoryMonth 2023 theme “Saluting our Sisters”, BIPC Greater Manchester would like to honour Black Women from a business perspective here and now from the ten boroughs – looking at startups to established businesswomen across all sectors sharing their stories about their journey.
Join us to not only listen but be part of the event where we can share best practices, network and where possible collaborate.

Jamilah Bruce, co-founder of digital agency MAJ Digital.
Kanika Selvan – Kanika works for a tech for good mission, empowering her clients to make decisions that unlock the benefits of technology for their organisation. She has worked across multiple sectors, from energy retail and telecoms to higher education, housing associations, social enterprises, tech start-ups and small charities, adapting to different workplace cultures, drivers and practices. She combines her cross-sector adaptability with her background in leading both technical change and people change, offering a holistic perspective that considers the business, infrastructure, data and applications. She is also a professional speaker and a board member, creating thought leadership and championing diversity and inclusion on topics such as change, technology, leadership, and innovation.
International guest Foluke Michael – Inspirational Salford MSc Project Management graduate Foluke Michael from Nigeria has won multiple awards and achieved recognition around the world for her efforts in sustainable development and her contributions to society. She’s a project management consultant, innovator and author who uses her skills to solve global problems. Foluke won the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Award in 2018, and she is the CEO and Founder of the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative.
Carol Ann Whitehead FRSA CMgr CCMI is Deputy Chair of the Chartered Management Institute Women’s Board. A proud Mancunian of mixed Jamaican and Lebanese heritage, she is co-Founder and Managing Director of the UK based publishing and events agency, “The Zebra Partnership.” A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an award-winning Managing Director of The Zebra Partnership. It serves as a Publishing, Events, and Campaigns agency working with consultants and performers on a project-by-project basis in the United Kingdom. The Zebra Partnership also serves a diverse overseas audience, from festivals to royal visits. Carol Ann is currently living in Northern Ireland, running her business remotely and chaperoning her teenage daughter, who is under contract with BBC Television. Carol Ann is a campaigner, social entrepreneur, civic activist and one of the most prolific social media movers.
