- Successfully launched our ERDF-funded Build A Business in GM Libraries project across 8 authorities
- Delivered over 500 events and activities (including face to face & remote 121s, workshops, webinars and networking events)
- Hosted over 2,700 attendees, more than double our target for the year
- Engaged with a diverse audience: women represent over 60% of attendees and 34% are from BAME communities.
Businesses that attended have all used the centre to get support and help. They included Cultureville, PetsZero, Sandra Powell Designs and Smart Urban Sensing.
Sandra Powell commented:
“Having been made redundant in June 2021, I decided to take a leap into the unknown and become a self-employed Surface pattern designer, having worked and gaining vast experience in the Textile industry for numerous years.
I have been provided with knowledge, confidence and very sound information with which to progress my business.
I would definitely say the interaction, workshops, information has been more than worthwhile, and I would highly recommend, people who are considering or just about to start a business, attend the workshop and use the services of GM Libraries and its helpful staff. “
